Anton Wahrby Signs Scholarship with Wofford College.

Proud to announce Predator DL Anton Wahrby has accepted a scholarship to No. 7 ranked Div.I FCS Wofford College

I am very happy to have helped Anton find a great new home in South Carolina. Wofford College is a top academic university and compete in the Div I FCS Southern Conference. In 2012 Wofford football finished ranked #7 nationaly with a 9-4 record and tied for first in the Southern Conference. Wofford made the Div I FCS playoffs beating New Hampshire in the first round before falling to 2012 National Champion North Dakota State in the quaterfinals.

Anton will be leaving Sweden next week and enrolling in the Spring semester at Wofford starting February 4. I will keep updating his success as the season unfolds.

Super Series Conferences Announced

The conferences for the 2013 Super Series was announced. Each conference will consist of 5 teams. We will play each team in our conference twice (home/away). And each team in the opposite conference once.

Conference 1
Carlstad
Örebro
STU
Kristianstad
Conference 2
Tyresö
Arlanda
Uppsala,
Stockholm

The schedule has not yet been released, so the start of the season and when and where we are travelling to is still undetermined. I am excited to be in the same conference as defending champion Carlstad. I believe that our conference is going to be a tough battle. STU and Örebro made the playoffs last year and Örebro has made a lot of big moves this off season and with their new stadium they are making a big push for another great year.

We have our work cut out for us but i am very excited about our future. I know that we have an immensely talented team and we will compete to win every game we play. With this schedule it it becomes even more important that we are diligent this off season in weight training and speed development. I am a firm believer that the season is won/lost by the work you put in in the off season. We have the talent to win, do we have the desire? That question is only answered by the players actions over the next few months.
As soon as the schedule is released I will post it as well as dates for upcoming camps.

Super Series 2013

It is official. The Kristianstad Predators were unanimously voted to move up and compete in the Super Series. Playing against the elite teams in Sweden will be a great challenge and I look forward to competing against the best.

Now it is time to put the hard work in, that will pay off next season. Thank you to all the Club members, players, parents, coaches and fans for making 2012 such a great year and for the hard work you are doing to make 2013 even better.

Predators - Beasts, Playoff Preview

This Saturday at 3:00 we will begin the journey of the playoffs for a Division 1 National Championship. The Predators will play host to the Baltic Beast from Nyköping. We finished the season a perfect 12-0 as the Division 1 South Champions. Scoring a colossal 566 points for an average of 52 points per game makes us the highest scoring team in all of Sweden. Our defense relinquished a stingy 79 points for an average of only 7 points per game. Making them tops in Division 1 South.

The Predators are lead by Quarterback Phil Juhlin who has lit up the scoreboard with his ability to make plays both through the air and on the ground. The predator offense also boasts a trio of wide receivers that are unmatched in productivity and play making ability. Benjamin Hörnqvist, Sorin Pandrea and Marcus Johnsson have each had multiple TD games and have made the Predator offense hard to predict and impossible to stop. The Predator offensive line is young and undersized but have shown flashes of greatness and will be fully healthy for the first time since Game 1. They have been the backbone allowing Juhlin to have time to find his targets.
Defensively the Predators have been on a steady rise, peaking at the right time as the playoffs approach. Leading tackler linebacker Sacce Hörnqvist heads a very aggressive high energy front 7. On the defensive line Anton Wahrby has been the most dominate defensive player I have seen in Division 1. He is a stout run stopper and a great pass rusher. In the secondary the Predators are lead by Alex Nilsson. Alex is explosive and leads the team with 9 interceptions returning 1 for touchdown.

Nyköping finished the regular season with 9 wins 0 losses and 1 tie. As Division 1 East Champions they will be travelling to Kristianstad with the difficult task of trying to tame the Predators. The Baltic Beasts are known for playing hard nosed football. They have a good running attack and are built to stop the run as well. They will rely on superior size on the lines to control the game. It will be a battle of conflicting styles and tempos. The team who can force their oponent to play their style of game will have a clear advantage.
